Capacity Building
SHE Foundation collaborates with communities, international and local organizations, governments and civil society across a range of sectors to integrate health, food security, gender, access to water and energy in community based adaptation and resilience building.
Climate Change Adaptation
A key component of our capacity building efforts aims to promote gender equality and education of girls and women to effectively engage in the prevention and response to climate change threats to water scarcity, food security, nutrition and health.
SHE members have been supporting community participatory capacity building initiatives to foster livelihoods, food security health and women and girls’ education and entrepreneurship since 2015.
Climate Change Impacts on Food Security and Nutrition – Participatory Community Research
The Report Voices for Action assesses food and nutrition security through the eyes of the Maasai community. The report is the result of participatory research conducted by SHE Foundation co-founder Cristina Tirado in collaboration with the African Population & Health Research Center.
The report used photo voice, an innovative participatory engagement method to facilitate participation by a group, that uses photography to capture participants experiences through their eyes.
Energy 4 All
SHE Foundation promoted capacity building efforts to install and maintain solar panels to pump water into the climate smart horticulture garden.
